The DBSM digital bodypack transmitter is the latest in the incredibly successful SM series of miniature transmitters. DBSM is part of the Lectrosonic digital ecosystem that includes D-Squared (DSQD), DCR822, DCHR/DCHT and Duet.
DBSM comes in B1 and C1 bands ranging from 537-691MHz in the E01 version. The new transmitter features new high efficiency circuitry and can operate up to 8:55h on a single AA battery. The transmitter can transmit with 2,10, 25 and 50mW transmit power. According to Lectrosonic's tests, 50mW with their digital transmission is equivalent to 125mW with an analog system. In addition, there is a new High Density Mode (HDM) that allows 200kHz between channels, which means twice as many channels in the same spectrum. HDM transmits at 2mW, so this mode is best suited for systems that have the possibility of external antennas and RF gain structure, such as theater.
DBSM can be configured as either a transmitter or a recorder recording in 24bit/48kHz on a microSD card. The transmitter can be jamsynced with time code for easy synchronization of files.
Since the DBSM has the same form factor as the SMB transmitter, all accessories from the SMB transmitter work with the DBSM.
