LockitBT - Timecode and sync generator with Bluetooth
Zero drift
The Ambient Communication Network (ACN) is Ambient's proprietary wireless network that connects all Lockit devices on set. When C-Jam (Continuous Jam) mode is enabled, all Lockit devices are constantly synchronized with each other. This allows them to achieve zero drift - in other words: 0.0 ppm drift for a full day of recording.
Bluetooth interface
Compared to Lockit (ACN-CL), LockitBT has an additional Bluetooth interface. This allows remote control via the smartphone app "LockitRemote" (free for iOS and Android) as well as the transmission of time code information to compatible devices from other manufacturers.
LockitRemote App
Connect your LockitBT via Bluetooth and adjust all settings directly on your smartphone. You can control the entire LockitBT menu and launch the C-Jam Master. In "ACN Radar" you can monitor and control all Lockit devices on the same ACN channel - even older models.
Sync at the touch of a button
Press the green button on one of your Lockit boxes for three seconds, and via ACN all other Lockit devices (on the same ACN channel) are synchronized with respect to TC and frame rate.
App or display menu
In addition to the LockitRemote app, LockitBT can also be set up via the haptic OLED display menu (press the red and green buttons simultaneously to open).
Battery power
With a standard 750 mAh NP-50 battery, the ACN-CL Lockit lasts approximately 14 hours. ACN communication (C-Jam mode) barely affects the operating time.
The replaceable lithium-ion battery can be charged during operation. The NP-50 battery is common in the pro audio industry and is often available with affordable chargers.
All sync formats
Designed for today's equipment, it supports 1080P and 1080i genlock for project rates from 23.976 to 60 FPS, while audio recorders are covered by wordclock up to 192 kHz.
Outputs
Two Lemo-compatible push-pull connectors provide maximum flexibility and continued use of existing cables. TC in and out follow industry standards and allow for syncing two cameras in parallel or jamming via cable while keeping the synced device connected.
The main output handles time code and genlock/wordclock. This gives you the freedom to use a straight cable, a Y-split cable or two separate cables where the second connector is used for timecode - which also connects to devices that support ACN for metadata transfer.
MIDI Timecode
While LTC timecode is sent via the Lemo-compatible side connectors, MIDI timecode can be retrieved via the USB-C interface. For example, to send timecode to a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) on your laptop. Some camera types also accept MIDI timecode via a standard USB cable.
Power supply and charging
External power and charging is via a standard USB-C port. Connected to a Mac or PC, Lockit acts as a MIDI timecode interface without additional configuration and allows detailed editing of the settings.
