The original version BBR1 can record and record up to 24 channels in 24bit/96kHz in Broadcast WAV (BWAV). While the BBR64-MADI and BBR64-DANTE can handle up to 64 channels depending on the sampling rate. All in just 1He!
All BLACKBOX Recorders can play polyphonic wav files up to 64 channels. In addition, mono, stereo and polyphonic files can be mixed into one track, making them extremely flexible.
The audio is recorded in the industry standard Broadcast Wave (BWAV) to an external USB hard drive, making the data easy to take with you themselves and use. The files can be directly imported into any PC or MAC-based DAW. By purchasing JoeCo's iXML plugin, one can also record in PolyWav.†
The recorder is controlled either via jog wheels and buttons on the front or via JoeCoRemote on an iPad.
Other time-saving functions are: Virtual sound check, hard disk formatting, the ability to create a mix with level and pan on all channels, keyboard interface, the ability to control with a foot pedal, Name Manager to create templates for naming tracks and recordings and simple quick commands to navigate. †
