CMIT5U, Guide tube. CMIT5U is a guide tube for e.g. dialogue recording on boom and for music. The directivity increases gravity with the frequency, which gives a balanced sound image. Off-axis sound decreases steadily and gradually, giving a natural sound and relatively little sensitivity to movements when using the boom. Attenuates wind noise very well. HF filter (+5dB / 10kHz) compensates for wind protection, LF cut 18dB/oct at 80Hz dampens wind and boom noise, LF roll-off 6 dB/oct below 300Hz compensates for proximity effect. 48V phantom power is required.
