BlueZoo Convert measures traffic between locations that can be at any distance, and is normally configured to collect data over several days or weeks. Convert is useful for measuring the effect of signage and its impact on consumer behavior. First, traffic is measured to establish a baseline. Then, after the signage is put up, traffic is re-measured to quantify the impact of the signage.
Measuring activity
Convert answers the following question: "What percentage of the people exposed to the signage follow the signage instructions?" We assume that the people detected near the sensor placed at the signage have "seen" the ad. We measure unique visitors, identified by their mobile phone's MAC address, and filter them by time to ensure correct direction.
Usage
The simplest application of Convert consists of two steps:
First, we measure the baseline flow. Before the signage is put up, BlueZoo sensors measure the foot traffic from the signage locations to the destination over a period (e.g. two weeks). We measure the percentage (P%) of people who would have walked to the destination without the impact of the signage.
Next, we put up the signage and re-measure the traffic. After the signage is put up, the same BlueZoo sensors measure the foot traffic from the same locations (now with signage in place) to the destination for a period (e.g. two weeks). We expect that more people (P' %) will walk to the destination with the signage impact. The question is: How much greater, if at all, is P' % compared to P%?
Licenses
To work, the sensor needs to be combined with one or more licenses. The basic license is called Count and it is always needed. Then you can build on in the following order:
If you have Count, you can add Analyze.
If you have Analyze, you can add Convert and/or Flow.
